Petrofac, the UK listed international engineering contractor, has awarded OMB valves s.p.a. a contract for the supply of special floating ball valves for Qatar Petroleum Gas Sweetening Facilities project in construction in Qatar’s Messaieed and Dukhan industrial districts.
Petrofac will undertake the engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning of gas sweetening facilities in both locations which includes a sulphur recovery upgrade at NGL-3 in Messaieed and an acid gas recovery plant at Arab-D in Dukhan.
Work on the projects is due for completion within 38 months with OMB supplying valves starting from in the 3rd quarter of 2011.

OMB will supply forged steel floating ball valves in a wide range of materials and pressure classes made at the Cenate Sotto unit in Italy.
